About This Position

AMC Masonry- Mason Tender

Summary:

The Mason Tender supports masonry activities by keeping materials, scaffold, and other masonry supportive activities complete ahead of bricklayer’s work.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Stocks block, brick, stone, and other masonry units
  2. Keeps wire reinforcing, flashing, drip edge, veneer ties, control joint cross, expansion foam and other masonry accessories readily available when needed
  3. Mixes mortar and masonry grout
  4. Cuts masonry units
  5. Assists with installation of masonry grout and rebar
  6. Keeps work area clean and organized
  7. Lays out and builds scaffolding
  8. Cleans and maintains masonry equipment (grout hog, mixer, saws, etc.)
  9. Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
  10. Other duties as assigned

AMC Masonry- Mason Tender

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform mason tending duties
  3. 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
  4. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  5. Ability to lift heavy units in a repetitive manner
  6. Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders
  7. Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
  8. Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may require overnight stays away from home
  9. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  10. Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
  11. Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
  12. Ability to work in a team environment
  13. Excellent communication skills
