Lead Engineering Training Specialist

The Lead Engineering Training Specialist reports to the Corporate Training Manager and is responsible for the effectiveness of the training program. This position requires an expert level of knowledge of NQA-1 requirements, design control, and engineering processes for training development and records.


Responsibilities:

• Drive organizational transformation by architecting and leading enterprise-wide corporate and technical training programs, ensuring integration of cutting-edge technologies, innovative curriculum development, and alignment with long-term strategic goals.


• Anticipate and resolve critical issues related to engineering training programs, leveraging expertise to address systemic challenges, optimize software applications, and implement solutions with organization-wide impact.


• Develop and enforce advanced governance over training program standard operating documents, ensuring integration of global best practices, exceeding compliance expectations, and fostering continuous improvement.


• Set vision and lead execution for corporate, discipline, and project engineering training strategies, enabling workforce development through predictive analytics and targeted skill-building initiatives.


• Lead organization-wide training needs assessments, engaging cross-functional executive leadership to identify strategic gaps and prioritize resource allocation for maximum impact.


• Innovate and deliver enterprise-level training programs, designing scalable, future-forward content and leveraging emerging trends to address multi-disciplinary technical challenges and global organizational needs.


• Oversee and elevate all engineering training delivery mechanisms, including classroom-based, virtual, and hybrid models, ensuring cutting-edge methodologies and instructor excellence.


• Establish enterprise compliance frameworks, proactively monitoring and aligning engineering training programs with international regulatory changes to mitigate risks and maintain operational readiness.


• Design and implement enterprise-level training data strategies, advancing records management systems to include predictive analytics, real-time reporting, and audit-ready transparency.


• Pioneer advancements in learning management systems, integrating modern solutions and adaptive learning technologies to revolutionize the user experience and training effectiveness.


• Lead organization-wide alignment of engineering training programs with Quality Assurance and industrial safety initiatives, championing a proactive culture of safety, innovation, and performance excellence.


• Deliver executive-level insights, synthesizing comprehensive engineering training data to inform strategic decision-making and present actionable recommendations to influence organizational priorities.


• Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, institutionalizing advanced training methodologies, fostering innovation, and embedding systematic approaches across all organizational levels.


• Partner with executive leadership and key stakeholders, driving strategic program development, future-proofing training initiatives, and aligning outcomes with evolving business goals and global trends.


• Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Training Manager.


Key Qualifications and Skills

• B.A./B.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.


• Individual should have 12+ years of training experience to include engineering course instruction, training material development, and/or training program assessment/evaluation.


• Prior nuclear operating experience under an ASME NQA-1 design control and corrective action program is required.


• Prior nuclear operating experience under NRC or DOE regulation is required.


• Prior instructor certification preferred.


• Proficient in SAP-SuccessFactors or similar platform.


• Proficient planning and execution skills for meeting regulatory and operational requirements.


• Excellent skills in the systematic approach to training and training management.


• Possess demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor in interacting and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.


• Able to operate and multi-task in a challenging/dynamic environment while demonstrating planning, coordination, and organizational and problem-solving skills.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little oversight or supervision.


• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, electronic document management systems (EDMS), and configuration management information systems (CMIS).


• Strong technical communication, verbal, and written skills that are clear, concise, and accurate.


• Excellent attention to detail in writing and review of documents, such as procedures, engineering deliverables, and training material.


• Experience developing SCORM or AICC compliant content with content developer tools; experience with Camtasia is preferred.


• Experience developing and managing training under the ADDIE model preferred.


• INPO ACAD principles for Systematic Approach to Training is preferred.


• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Job details:

Salary Range 12: $168,316 - $252,475


* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
