Working under the supervision of the Principal and alongside the classroom teacher, this role supports the delivery of high-quality instruction while helping to maintain a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
At Bronx Arts, Teaching Assistants are more than support staff—they are partners in instruction, culture-builders, and champions for student success.

- Use positive behavior management techniques to support a strong classroom culture
- Observe and communicate student academic and social-emotional progress to the teacher
- Assist with grading, anecdotal note-taking, and data entry (including PowerSchool)
- Support instructional activities, projects, and small group work as directed by the teacher
- Step in to support classroom instruction in the teacher's absence, as needed
- Support arrival, dismissal, lunch, and transitions to ensure a safe and orderly environment
- Promote positive habits and maintain a structured, respectful environment in shared spaces (e.g., cafeteria, hallways)
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Adhere to school schedules, systems, and expectations
What We're Looking For:
- A strong commitment to our mission, core values, and a high-expectations school culture
- Professional maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, and families
- A reliable, detail-oriented team player who takes initiative and contributes to a smooth, well-run classroom and school
- A growth-minded professional with a “do whatever it takes” attitude in service of students
- A passion for the arts and belief in creativity as a driver of student engagement and success
Qualifications:
