Day Shift Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered on the first day of the month after hire, 401(k) after 6 months.
Overview: As a Production Planning Manager for Keel Midwest, you will be responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously improving the finite manufacturing schedule, ensuring all materials are on hand to meet manufacturing needs, and partnering with plant leadership to deliver operational commitments.
Job Functions:
- Develop a master schedule to establish a sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates required by sales forecasts or customer orders.
- Lead schedule planning meetings and prepare schedules for assigned products to meet customer service goals, lead inventory management team in optimizing inventory investment and meeting manufacturing requirements.
- Revise manufacturing schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with Management, and Manufacturing.
- Partner with Plant Managers, Supervisors and Operators, Procurement, Distribution and Customer Service to coordinate manufacturing and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
- Lead the development of scheduling tools to increase the level of automation, enable pre-launch forecasting and reduce the manual nature of the Scheduling function.
- Develop guidance and use expertise to provide plant team knowledge relative to plant schedule optimization.
- Work with Senior Managers and APEX to reserve capacity as necessary for specific jobs and align planning activities with Project Management Office team. Create weekly/monthly reports and KPIs.
Physical Demands: Physical stress can be moderate, mental stress is moderate to high due to the potential impact this position has on customer satisfaction and future business.
Work Environment: Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of 4 years of business experience is required or in lieu of education requirement, 8-10 years’ experience.
- A focused degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Math, Engineering, or Logistics is preferred. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training, and/or certification is preferred.
- Previous manufacturing plant scheduling experience, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and proactive thinker with attention to detail.
- Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed expectations and manage multiple projects and initiatives and while maintain a strong sense of urgency and leadership.
- Team attitude, eager to cooperate with others, has exceptional inter-personal communication skills and can lead teams or groups of other managers.
