Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Regulatory and Accreditation, the Policy Manager acts as the primary system owner for the policy management platform, including responsibility for overseeing, coordinating, maintaining, and reporting on the organization’s internal policies, procedures, and charter documents. This role serves as the enterprise-wide authority for policy governance. The Policy Manager manages and maintains the organization’s policy management platform, implements sound document control practices, and supports the functionality of systemwide chartered committees. In partnership with leaders and departments across the health system, this role streamlines policy practices and standardizes training programs, provides role-based guidance, and ensures organizational performance targets. Through this work, the Policy Manager strengthens organizational accountability, supports regulatory readiness, and maintains a transparent, well structured policy environment.
Annual Salary Range: $63,169.60 - $93,184.00
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires an Associate's Degree in business or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Requires at least four (4) years of relevant experience as described in the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Specialized Training:
- Experience applying accreditation standards (ACS, DNV, HFAP) to internal policy frameworks preferred.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement training preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of policy lifecycle management, governance standards, and document control practices relevant to healthcare organizations.
- Understanding of regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements impacting organizational policies and chartered committee structures.
- Knowledge of workflow management systems and policy databases and principles of data integrity, version control, and record retention.
- Knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Hospital Regulations.
- Knowledge of DNV National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) standards.
- Knowledge of Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) administrative codes.
- Communicates Effectively: Ability to develop and deliver clear, concise, audience appropriate communications in both written and verbal formats.
- Manages Complexity: Skill in analyzing policy content, regulatory requirements, and governance workflows to identify solutions and maintain accuracy.
- Optimizes Work Processes: Ability to streamline procedures, maintain efficient workflows, and support continuous improvement in policy management.
- Builds Relationships & Values Differences: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse clinical, administrative, and operational teams.

- Regulatory interpretation and translation: Ability to interpret complex laws, regulations, and accreditation standards and translate them into clear, actionable policy requirements and governance practices.
- Document Control and Workflow Architecture: Ability to establish and enforce formal version control, approval workflows, lifecycle management standards, and auditable governance framework.
