Job Description
The Special Procedures Registered Nurse is a clinically competent, registered perianesthesia professional nurse who prescribes delegates and coordinates age specific nursing care to patients during their preoperative, intraoperative and immediate postoperative experience through the nursing process of assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation assist physicians as directed during procedures and updates. Provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia attending physicians and anesthesiologists on the patients conditions. All RN’s are responsible for taking call as assigned, and should be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes of being called back in. Able to wash, high level disinfect and maintenance of scopes. Obtains patient medical history and other health information. Assumes responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes. Planning, implementing, evaluating nursing care of patients. They also direct and supervise nursing care of patient in the GI setting.
Education: Associates or Bachelors of Nursing required
Additional Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, a current Tennessee Nursing License. BSN preferred.
Experience: 1 to 3 years preferred - Not taking new nursing graduates
