JOB SUMMARY |
The primary purpose of the Lead RRT position is to supervise and manage the clinical and technical activities of all areas of Cardiopulmonary Services. The Lead RRT reports to the Director of Cardiopulmonary and is next in the chain of command in the absence of the Director. The Lead RRT role models the mission, vision, and values of MHSC. The Lead RRT complies with all relevant evidence-based practice policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Lead RRT is a Registered Respiratory Therapist accountable for facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, patient flow, staffing, appropriate use of resources, and problem-solving. The Lead RRT assists the Director with all aspects of department operations except for determining and exerting employee corrective action and corresponding activities.
The Lead RRT is responsible for coordinating the delivery of patient care activities, professional education, and quality improvement activities, standards of care and practice, compliance with regulations, and directs staff accordingly. The Lead RRT assists with staff scheduling, shift assignments and responds to immediate issues. The Lead RRT attends meetings, facilitates new employee orientation, participates in the hiring process, and assists in the performance evaluation process. The Lead RRT ensures that clinical competencies are established and maintained at hire and ongoing. Lead RRTs work collaboratively with members of the health team and other departments to resolve issues. The Lead RRT serves as a liaison with medical staff to identify issues that require attention, solve problems, and review overall clinic operations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS |
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy with a current Wyoming Respiratory License in good standing. When initially hired into the role the Lead RRT can have an associate’s degree in Applied Science - Respiratory (AAS) or a bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. It is preferred that the Lead RRT has three years of clinical experience or has demonstrated progressive accountability and leadership abilities.
