About This Position
Job Summary
Responsible for processing patient account receipts received on a daily basis from Medicare, Medicaid, insurances, work comp, and patients. Processes patient mailed-in credit card/check payments and credit card processing on a daily basis. Completes other projects as needed.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.49-$27.51. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
- Process Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) on all billing systems on a daily basis. Applies payments to appropriate accounts. This includes posting payments and adjustments according to the information on the EOB’s.
- Post patient/client payments received including processing mailed-in credit cards payments.
- Run reports from RevSpring to post payments that come through the payment portal.
- Balance the cash/checks/credit cards to batch totals on the billing systems using the cash cover sheet.
- Prepare the daily deposit ticket.
- Copy EOB's as required for Patient Financial Services and all checks received.
- Contact Patient Financial Services for clarification whenever it is unclear how to process an EOB.
- Respond promptly to PFS inquiries regarding cash and process corrections of postings to the billing systems as requested by PFS.
- Combine all EOB's, billing system batch sheets, cash cover sheets and copies of checks in a cash bag, and scan for PFS.
- Communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with all PFS, accounting, and other hospital/clinic staff as required.
- Provide back up for mail sorting, credit card processing and tallying checks.
All employees are required to demonstrate understanding of and adherence to NH+C’s Compliance and Ethics Program (including its Code of Conduct), and complete required training.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years general office experience
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment
- Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance remittance processing experience, preferred
Work Schedule and Hours
- 80 hours per two-week pay period
- Onsite in Northfield, MN, with the potential for hybrid work after the initial training period
