Technician, Roofing at Renova One – Troy, Michigan

JOB SUMMARY:

The Roofing Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems across residential and commercial properties. This role focuses primarily on roof repairs, leak detection, and general roofing maintenance, with occasional siding repairs and material handling as needed. Technicians spend most of their time working in the field completing hands-on repairs and troubleshooting roofing issues. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, comfort working at heights, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Inspect roofs and identify sources of leaks or damage
• Perform roof repairs including patching, flashing, vent and boot repairs
• Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems including shingle, flat, and metal roofs
• Complete preventative maintenance and service work on roofing systems
• Assist with occasional siding repairs or exterior work when needed
• Transport materials and tools to job sites as required
• Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and organized
• Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices
• Work on both residential and commercial properties
• Communicate professionally with team members and customers
• Collaborate with the team to maintain quality standards and efficient workflow

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Roofing experience required, particularly with repair work and leak detection
• Experience working with shingle, flat, or metal roofing systems preferred
• Ability to safely work at heights and in varying weather conditions
• Familiarity with roofing tools, ladders, and safety equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license required
• Reliable transportation

OTHER:

• Approximately 80% field work at job sites
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Saturdays (7:30 AM – 1:00 PM) required during peak season (May–October)
• Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
• All offers of employment are contingent upon a drug panel and a background check
• Valid Driver's License is required
