We offer full home water solutions designed to elevate the way people hydrate, combining sophisticated technology with modern, top tier design to deliver exceptional performance, customer satisfaction, and enhanced functionality.

As an employee, you'll receive competitive compensation and benefits that go beyond the basics. Enjoy on-site yoga and Pilates, an amazing Equinox gym in the courtyard, fresh local produce and food at the Tuesday Farmers Market, and artisan coffee from our signature Airstream coffee shop — all right on campus.

About the role

As an IoT Product Manager, you will own the full lifecycle of our connected product portfolio — from smart filters and real-time water quality monitors to mobile companion apps and cloud-based analytics dashboards. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in hardware engineering, firmware, UX design, data science, and customer success to deliver products that are intuitive, reliable, and technically differentiated. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives at the intersection of physical devices and digital experiences.

What you'll do

  • Define and maintain the IoT product roadmap for connected water appliance products, sensors, and companion software, aligning priorities with business objectives and customer insights.
  • Translate complex technical requirements from firmware and embedded systems teams into clear product specifications and user stories.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering on PCB and sensor design reviews, ensuring connectivity protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee) meet real-world reliability standards.
  • Lead integration efforts for cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or equivalent), mobile apps (iOS/Android), and third-party smart home ecosystems (Alexa, Google Home, Matter).
  • Own the voice of the customer — conduct user research, analyze telemetry data, and drive iterative improvements based on real-world usage patterns and NPS feedback.
  • Define and track KPIs including device activation rates, connectivity uptime, filter replacement compliance, and customer lifetime value for connected products.
  • Partner with go-to-market, sales engineering, and customer success teams to develop launch strategies, technical enablement materials, and post-launch support playbooks.
  • Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and component suppliers, ensuring BOM and certification timelines (FCC, CE, UL) stay on track.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks in firmware OTA update cycles, data privacy compliance (CCPA, GDPR), and cybersecurity threat modeling for connected devices.
  • Mentor junior product associates and contribute to a culture of data-driven, customer-centric product development.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on IoT, connected hardware, or embedded systems products.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship hardware-software products from concept through mass production and post-launch iterations.
  • Strong understanding of IoT architecture: device firmware, cloud backends, APIs, and mobile app layers.
  • Experience working with connectivity standards such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, Z-Wave, or cellular (LTE-M/NB-IoT).
  • Proficiency with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Productboard, or equivalent) and data analysis platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, SQL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive stakeholders and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in water treatment, HVAC, home appliances, or other regulated consumer hardware categories.
  • Familiarity with water quality sensors, filtration media chemistry, or environmental monitoring systems.
  • Background in subscription and recurring revenue business models (e.g., filter subscription, premium app features).
  • Experience with Matter/Thread smart home protocols and certification processes.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • AWS Certified IoT Specialty or equivalent cloud platform certification.
  • Prior software development experience, including front-end development (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) as well as back-end or embedded work (e.g., Python, Node.js, or C/C++) \u2014 hands-on coding background is a strong differentiator for collaborating effectively with engineering teams, contributing to UX decisions, and evaluating technical trade-offs.
