About the Role:

The 1 TON Driver plays a critical role in the rental and leasing services industry by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of rental equipment and goods to various client locations. This position requires operating a 5500 truck to deliver, pick up, and relocate rental items while maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. The driver acts as a representative of the company, providing professional and courteous service to customers during all interactions. Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class A.
• Proven experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably trucks of similar size and weight.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a truck to deliver and pick up rental equipment and goods according to scheduled routes and customer requests; this involves pulling various trailers such as scissor lift and gooseneck trailers.
• Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Load and unload cargo carefully, securing items to prevent damage during transit.
• Verify delivery orders and obtain customer signatures to confirm receipt of goods.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents encountered during routes.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent customer inquiries and equipment rental needs.
