About This Position

Description:

The Caregiver provides a wide range of personal care and in-home support to assigned clients. This support generally entails assisting clients with their daily living activities, ranging from bathing and grooming to companionship to accompanying them on outings. The Caregiver will work alongside other parsonage staff to maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment that promotes an excellent level of physical and mental well-being for clients.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Companionship, including activities, discussions, encouragement, reassurance, and redirection as needed.
  • Assisting with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Following a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
  • Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place.
  • Position may also be expected to assist with some light housework.
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
  • Providing mobility assistance may be required.
  • Transporting or escorting the client to various outings or appointments.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
  • Work in conjunction with KCM Security team to ensure safety of clients.
  • Act as personal assistant.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Regulated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission
  • Additional certifications such as HHA, or PCA are preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift and move clients with physical limitations
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Valid Driver’s License

OTHER:

  • Born again believer and must adhere to this organization's doctrines as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives.
  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with people of all cultures
