Data Entry Specialist at Down East Community Hospital – Calais, Maine

The Data Entry Specialist reports to the Patient Financial Services Director and directly supports the posting and reconciling of accounts.

• This position performs daily posting of patient an insurance receipts, ensuring the accuracy in positing of contractual adjustments.
• Reviews credit balances to ensure that there are no posting errors.
• Daily posts non-patient receipts.
• Reconcile bank deposits with Accounting.
• Maintains the strictest confidentiality adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• High School diploma/ Associates in accounting preferred or 5 years of related experience
• Experience with billing health insurance companies is preferred.
• Must have the initiative to work independently in a busy office setting and be able to multitask.
• Experience in Microsoft Word and excel
