About This Position

We are seeking an OSV Buyer to source, purchase, and manage all outside processing and vendor‑provided services required to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures that outsourced processes are performed by approved suppliers, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time to support production schedules. The OSV Buyer works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance, cost control, and supplier performance.
So, what will you be doing as OSV Buyer?
- Manage procurement of outside services including NDT, welding, machining, and other special processes required for aerospace components.
- Ensure all suppliers are approved per AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal quality requirements.
- Issue purchase orders, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms, and ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
- Monitor supplier performance including on‑time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and adherence to special process requirements.
- Coordinate with production planning to ensure outside services align with build timelines and customer delivery commitments.
- Resolve supplier‑related issues such as delays, non‑conformances, capacity constraints, or technical questions.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and process requirements to ensure accurate service procurement.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems, including PO status, lead times, receipts, and cost updates.
- Support cost‑reduction initiatives through supplier consolidation, negotiation, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to qualify new suppliers, support audits, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
- Track and expedite parts at outside vendors to prevent production delays.
- Assist in developing long‑term supplier relationships and strategic sourcing plans.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 3 years in a Buyer/Purchasing role
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with ERP system, Epicor is a plus.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing purchasing strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing workflows.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to address supplier issues quickly and effectively.
