About This Position

Personalized Nursing LIGHT House (PNLH), a leading behavioral health provider with over 35 years of experience, is seeking a qualified and compassionate Primary Therapist to join our team. We have openings at various locations ( Plymouth, Canton or Madison Heights).

This is an excellent opportunity for a Bachelor's (Madison Heights location only) or Master’s level clinician to provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in a structured residential setting, with the support of a multidisciplinary team and an integrated treatment model.

Position Summary

As a Primary Therapist, you will deliver individual and group therapy to adult clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. You will use the LIGHT model to guide clinical decision-making and support clients in achieving sustainable recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly individual therapy for assigned clients

  • Facilitate 2–3 therapeutic groups per week on PNLH-selected topics

  • Use the LIGHT model in assessment, education, and counseling

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and respond to client needs

  • Monitor service utilization and coordinate care with internal and external providers

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with authorization and billing requirements

  • Maintain client confidentiality and participate in case conferences

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Services field

  • CADC, CAADC, or MCBAP Development Plan (support provided to obtain plan if not currently held)

Preferred

  • Master’s degree and licensure (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, etc.)

  • Minimum two years of experience in substance use disorder counseling

  • Training in trauma-informed care

  • Experience treating co-occurring mental health disorders

  • Familiarity with authorization processes for Michigan’s PIHP system

Compensation
  • Competitive hourly rate up to $30.00, commensurate with education and experience
