About This Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for emergency planning, response and preparedness, training and exercise and outreach functions for Bryan Health Lincoln campuses. Consults on all aspects of emergency preparedness with all Bryan Health entities.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Assigns personnel responsibilities when in emergency preparedness service; ensures coordination of all activities concerning emergency preparedness.
3. *Monitors operating budget and ensures cost containment measures in conjunction with the program reporting manager/director.
4. *Chairs Emergency Management Committee and other sub-teams that form for preparedness activities.
5. *Participates with internal and external task forces, committees, and agencies regarding emergency preparedness including those at the hospital, local, regional, and state levels.
6. *Collaborates with community representatives to coordinate, design and conduct test and full-scale exercises to prepare staff for effective response to major emergencies and catastrophic events.
7. *Investigates, researches and makes recommendations regarding emergency preparedness best practices.
8. Works with internal subject matter experts and department leaders to design and administer emergency response training courses.
9. Develops and conducts exercises and evaluations of in-house emergency management plans in accordance with state and federal regulations.
10. Maintains awareness of legislation and accreditation standards effecting emergency preparedness.
11. Works with appropriate staff to develop an ongoing performance improvement program related to emergency preparedness.
12. Actively seeks out and attends educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and abilities for the hospital emergency management program.
13. Provides emergency preparedness consultation to all Bryan Health entities.
14. Commits to safe outcomes for our healthcare team and patients.
15. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
16. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
17. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or safety-related area required. Master’s degree in business administration preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in Emergency Management and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in management or supervisory role required.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
FEMA Emergency Management Program Coordinator Training (IS -100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 2900) required.
FEMA Installation Emergency Manager Training and FEMA Professional Development Series required.
