Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. Must maintain annual registration thereafter and remain in good standing.

This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Current schedule is a rotating schedule working primarily during the hours of 7am-530pm. Options are 8 hour or 10 hour shifts available. Participates in a five week rotation for weekend shift coverage. May have occasional evening rotations as needed. Shift may need to be worked on an occasional holiday to support locations operating on University holidays. Hours of operation and shift location are subject to change based on the needs of the department and future growth.

UK Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution at UK Specialty Pharmacy. This position will be a vital part of our growing team serving UK HealthCare patients and staff.

The selected candidate will fill prescriptions and package orders for delivery in a busy retail-based pharmacy setting. May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Hospital/retail pharmacy technician and/or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
