This role sits at the intersection of retirement benefits operations and technical systems, ensuring that complex pension administration processes run accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and client requirements. You will act as a key liaison between operations teams, programmers, and external vendors, translating business needs into clear technical requirements and ensuring system changes are properly implemented and tested. The position plays a critical role in supporting defined benefit retirement plans by improving data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and operational workflows. You will contribute to system enhancements, testing cycles, and ongoing production support while helping ensure a seamless experience for clients and participants. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner across technical and business teams to resolve issues and optimize processes. Your work will directly support the integrity and reliability of retirement plan administration services.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will support the accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement of retirement benefits systems by analyzing data, defining requirements, and ensuring successful system functionality across operations and technical environments. You will serve as a bridge between business operations, technical teams, and external vendors.

  • Analyze system changes, enhancements, and bug fixes to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements
  • Conduct testing of system updates, upgrades, and new functionality, validating performance and resolving defects
  • Write and maintain detailed business and technical requirements for system changes and enhancements
  • Collaborate with programmers, operations teams, and vendors to ensure smooth implementation of system solutions
  • Design, generate, and maintain operational reports, data queries, and dashboards to support decision-making
  • Identify data trends, anomalies, and operational issues to improve client service and system performance
  • Support project work for client implementations, including planning, requirements gathering, testing, and documentation
  • Maintain system documentation, workflows, and operational procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to internal users and stakeholders
Requirements:

This position requires a strong blend of business analysis skills, technical understanding, and experience in retirement benefits or pension administration environments. You should be comfortable working with data, systems, and cross-functional teams in a highly detail-oriented setting.

  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a retirement/benefits administration environment with technical exposure
  • Experience working with defined benefit retirement plans (strongly preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of databases, data structures, and system applications
  • Knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear requirements and translate business needs into technical documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities
