About This Position

Position Description: Position Summary
The Creative Communications Associate is responsible for graphic design, marketing, and communications in support of the Foundations programs, services, and fundraising initiatives. This role plays a key part in brand awareness, storytelling, and audience engagement across digital and print platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and produce creative assets for social media, websites, email campaigns, signage, brochures, and video content
  • Support fundraising and special events by developing and maintaining marketing collateral (e.g., Walk to END EPILEPSY, special events, campaigns)
  • Create and update marketing materials for programs and services, including support groups and Seizure First Aid trainings
  • Develop and implement marketing plans, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Maintain and manage all EFCST websites, ensuring brand consistency, accuracy, and functionality
  • Build brand awareness and engagement across digital and traditional media platforms
  • Maintain and execute a content calendar for social media, email marketing, websites, and direct mail
  • Monitor trends, analyze engagement data, and recommend strategies to improve campaign performance and audience retention
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, interns, and volunteers as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • 23 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, social media management, or communications
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), WordPress, SEO tools, and social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Buffer)
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and enhance organizational branding guidelines
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with photography and videography
  • Experience working with a donor database or CRM
  • Nonprofit experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Communication & Collaboration
  • Strong understanding of effective storytelling and messaging across multiple platforms
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external partners
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Primarily works in an air-conditioned office environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
Supervisory & Decision-Making Responsibilities
  • May supervise interns, volunteers, and vendors
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision-making related to communications and marketing initiatives
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events and campaigns.

Travel
Occasional local and regional travel is required for events and outreach activities. A valid drivers license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
