Role Overview
We are seeking a Subcontracts Project Manager to support a large-scale, hyperscale data center project for a leading technology client in Sparks, NV. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all subcontractor scopes are executed efficiently, aligned with project schedules, and delivered in accordance with contract requirements.
This is a high-impact, boots-on-the-ground role working alongside project leadership, field teams, and subcontractors in a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment.
Responsibilities
The Subcontracts PM will be fully responsible for managing subcontractor scope execution from pre-award through project closeout, including:
- Manage and administer subcontract agreements across multiple trades
- Lead daily coordination with subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and milestones
- Identify, track, and proactively resolve subcontractor constraints and risks
- Oversee and manage change orders, including documentation, tracking, and execution
- Support change order pricing and cost validation in coordination with project controls and commercial teams
- Maintain and drive subcontractor schedule updates, ensuring alignment with the master project schedule
- Coordinate and review weekly subcontractor progress reports
- Manage subcontractor billings and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support procurement and buyout processes, including scope leveling and vendor coordination
- Assist with budget tracking and cost control efforts related to subcontracted work
- Collaborate with engineering and field teams to support BIM coordination efforts
- Support the submittal process, ensuring timely review and approval cycles
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution across design, procurement, and construction phases
- 7–12+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on subcontracts, commercial management, or project controls
- Strong experience in data centers, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction preferred
- Background working with major GCs, EPCs, or owner’s rep environments
- Strong understanding of: Subcontract administration, change management / change orders, cost control & budgeting, scheduling coordination (Primavera P6 exposure is a plus)
- Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, SharePoint
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills able to coordinate across field, office, and subcontractor teams
- Proactive problem-solver in fast-paced environments
- Ability to manage multiple subcontract scopes simultaneously
