About This Position
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety. This role involves transporting goods across designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe Vehicle Operation:
- Operate Class A vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to driving.
2. Transportation of Goods:
- Transport and deliver freight to various locations in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all shipments are loaded and secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
3. Route Planning:
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery timing and reduce fuel consumption.
- Utilize GPS and navigation tools to ensure accurate delivery.
4. Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections:
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or signs of wear and tear.
5. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate logs and records of driving hours, mileage, deliveries, and other required documentation.
- Comply with the Hours-of-Service regulations.
6. Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to ensure clear expectations and satisfaction.
- Handle customer interactions professionally and courteously.
7. Compliance:
- Understand and comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulations, including DOT regulations.
- Participate in safety training and awareness programs.
8. Load Handling:
- Assist in loading and unloading freight as necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Utilize forklifts or other equipment safely, if required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- At least 5 years of experience with a clean record.
- Clean driving record with no major violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving).
