Operations Manager at Futures Consulting – Tampa, Florida

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred (not required with the right experience)
• 5+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing operations, with a proven track record of success in setting up and managing production processes.
• Strong knowledge of, or capability of quickly learning, food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines, with experience in implementing and maintaining robust food safety programs.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques is a plus.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and manage production processes for gummy, fruit chew, hard candy, and other candy manufacturing in facility, working hands-on with 1-2 production staff to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Project Management teams to customize processes for each client’s unique needs, ensuring that every candy meets our clients’ specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, cleaning protocols, testing procedures, and shipping/receiving operations to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines, through rigorous documentation and quality control measures.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings, implementing best practices and lean manufacturing principles to maximize productivity and profitability.
