About This Position
The Intelligent Computing Lab, led by Dr. Yu Bai, seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher for the "AI for Science" project. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, the researcher will design, conduct, and supervise scientific research in AI for Science. This includes analyzing simulation results, conducting lab experiments, performing data analysis, and disseminating findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publications. The role also involves contributing clinically meaningful annotations and validations for medical AI models through advanced knowledge in medicine, human physiology, and disease mechanisms.

- Provide clinical and scientific subject-matter expertise to support biomedical research and medical AI initiatives, including interpretation of human physiology, disease mechanisms, and clinical care workflows.
- Review and interpret histopathology and medical imaging; develop and apply clinically meaningful criteria for data annotation, labeling, and model validation.
- Conduct and/or supervise biomedical laboratory activities (e.g., histology, immunology) in accordance with established protocols, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Support translational research activities bridging basic science, clinical research, and application; contribute to study design, documentation, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage research data and documentation, including data quality checks, version control of annotation guidelines, and maintenance of organized study records.
- Prepare written reports, manuscripts, and presentations; communicate results to internal stakeholders and external scientific audiences as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated clinical training and experience with strong understanding of human physiology, disease mechanisms, and standard diagnostic/treatment workflows.
- Proficiency in interpreting histopathology and/or medical imaging for research purposes, including the ability to define clinically meaningful criteria for data annotation and model validation.
- Documented biomedical research training and hands-on laboratory experience (e.g., histology, immunology, or related wet-lab methods).
- Demonstrated experience supporting translational research that connects basic science, clinical investigation, and practical application.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical/scientific documentation and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage research data and maintain accurate, well-organized records in compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum Doctorate degree in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
