Qualifications
RS&H is seeking a FDOT District 7 Corridors Program Office (CPO) Deputy Liaison (Principal Highway Engineer) for our Tampa office.
As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in supporting the program in managing and delivering the largest and most complex projects in District 7. From the very beginning of RFQ development and marketing meetings to seeing projects through construction, this position will help lead the procurement, plans development and assist during construction.
This position will coordinate with the subject matter experts and project managers to ensure the program, and the individual projects, are delivered at the expectation of the client. Provide technical expertise where needed and assist in decision making regarding project scope and innovation. Being organized and clearly communicating project goals and decisions between all individuals involved.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Participate in the development of procurement documents
- Attend and contribute to marketing meetings
- Support plans development processes
- Provide support during construction phases
- Communicate and coordinate with subject matter experts and project managers
- Provide technical expertise where needed
- Support decision-making and communicate decisions to project teams
- Ensure the overall program and each project meet client expectations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university;
- Minimum 15 years of experience in roadway/highway engineering;
- Florida professional engineering (PE) registration;
- Experience managing conventional and design-build projects relating to intersections, arterials, interstates, and interchanges for FDOT and county clients;
- Working knowledge of MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer;
- Experience working with large multi-discipline teams;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and overall quality control and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has a diverse background in the management and delivery of both conventional Design-Bid-Build and alternative delivery Adjust Score Design-Build and/or Phased Design-Build projects.
- Has served as a Project Manager and/or subject matter expert within an Owner’s Representative Contract for a major corridor.
- Has Engineer of Record experience in a wide variety of FDOT highway projects, including Limited Access Highways, Tolled Expressways, Urban Arterial Reconstruction and Widenings, and Milling & Resurfacings.
- Has experience delivering FDOT District Wide and/or Continuing Services Contracts.
- Has well-established FDOT contacts within respective geography.
- Has identified and captured a variety of FDOT highway project solicitations.
- Has experience in complex interchange and/or alternative intersection design.
- Has capability to oversee and review work performed within Bentely OpenRoads Designer.
- Has managed and led a high performing highway team.
