The Field Safety Supervisor role has a national salary range of $62,000 - $75,000, with bonus potential.

Job Description

  • Promotes occupational health and safety awareness throughout assigned facility, including housekeeping. Conducts ongoing safety inspections of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure compliance and safe working environment for associates. Monitors and enforces safety regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA.
  • Coordinates, develops and /or conducts safety training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation, including new hire safety orientation.
  • Implements, maintains, and updates internal safety programs and procedures in conjunction with company, customer, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Acts as site liaison related to government inspections concerning safety, environmental, or ergonomic issues. Facilitates incident investigations, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions.
  • Analyzes routine job tasks for hazards and identifies safer ways of working. Assists Human Resources with return of employees after accidents or injuries.
  • Leads Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program on-site through regularly scheduled observations of warehouse workers and drivers.
  • Liaises with Functional HSE team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Administers and maintains MSDS programs. Ensures compliance with Hours of Service regulations and OSHA regulations around recording and reporting occupational injuries & illness.
  • Administers, measures, and supports safety performance.
  • Actively participates on assigned teams and/or projects, including site Health & Safety Committee and process improvement initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, required
  • Formal safety certification, preferred
  • 1-3 years of safety experience (i.e. - administration of site based safety programs), required
  • 5-7 years warehouse/distribution/logistics experience, required
  • or equivalent with work related experience in inventory control, logistics or related discipline, required
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field, preferred
