This role sits at the intersection of healthcare operations, revenue cycle performance, and Epic system optimization, supporting large-scale health systems in improving financial and clinical workflows. You will act as a key subject matter expert responsible for configuring, enhancing, and maintaining Epic Revenue Cycle applications to drive measurable operational improvements. The position combines technical Epic build expertise with deep collaboration across clinical, IT, and revenue cycle leadership teams. You will influence how hospitals reduce denials, improve billing accuracy, and optimize patient access workflows. Operating in a fully remote environment, you will also engage with stakeholders nationwide and contribute to enterprise-level transformation initiatives. - Lead Epic Revenue Cycle strategy development, ensuring alignment between operational needs and IT system capabilities to improve end-to-end financial performance.
- Perform system build, configuration, testing, and maintenance activities while following IT change control processes and ensuring system stability.
- Partner with revenue cycle and IT leadership to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement Epic-driven process improvements.
- Analyze KPIs and operational data (e.g., denials, coding accuracy, registration, scheduling, authorization workflows) to recommend system enhancements.
- Serve as escalation point for Epic issues, managing tickets, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Support reporting, decision documentation, SBARDs, and project materials to guide build and optimization initiatives.
- Deliver training support, documentation, and workflow education to operational teams and leadership.
- Participate in client onboarding, assessments, and stakeholder meetings to support system adoption and satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Active Epic Certification in a Revenue Cycle module is required.
- 3+ years of hands-on Epic build experience, particularly in billing, patient access, or revenue cycle workflows.
- Strong understanding of hospital and/or ambulatory revenue cycle operations and healthcare financial processes.
- Experience with system implementation, configuration, testing, and Epic change control environments.
- Knowledge of interfaces, HL7 messages, and cross-system integration concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into actionable system improvements.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a remote, fast-paced environment.
