This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for a board-certified psychiatrist passionate about improving access to behavioral healthcare for underserved and complex patient populations. - Provide clinical and strategic leadership for behavioral health programming in collaboration with medical, operational, and care management teams.
- Develop and implement behavioral health initiatives focused on population health management, cost-of-care reduction, and improved member outcomes.
- Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives tied to behavioral health metrics, HEDIS performance, and value-based care objectives.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management for members with complex behavioral health needs.
- Prescribe psychiatric medications, including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), long-acting injectable medications, Clozapine, and other clinically indicated treatments.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and provide psychiatric guidance for complex clinical situations and care planning.
- Support integrated care delivery by educating clinical and non-clinical teams on behavioral health conditions, treatment approaches, and care coordination strategies.
- Collaborate with community providers, behavioral health organizations, and healthcare partners to strengthen referral pathways and continuity of care.
- Assist in reducing avoidable hospitalizations, emergency department visits, and unnecessary specialty referrals through proactive care management.
- Ensure accurate diagnosis capture, clinical documentation, coding compliance, and closure of prioritized quality gaps.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide cross-market clinical support as needed.
- Utilize electronic health records, care facilitation tools, and data platforms to support clinical documentation, communication, and care coordination.
- MD or DO degree with completion of Psychiatry residency training.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry required.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-residency clinical experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in behavioral health assessment, psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, and integrated care delivery.
- Experience working with complex patient populations, including Medicaid and underserved communities, is highly valued.
- Knowledge of population health strategies, value-based care models, and behavioral health quality metrics.
- Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), severe mental illness management, and substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead care teams, influence clinical strategy, and manage complex behavioral health cases effectively.
- Comfort working within technology-enabled care environments and electronic health record systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a patient-centered and equity-focused mindset.
- Willingness to participate in on-call coverage and support multiple care markets when needed.
- Competitive annual salary range between $225,000 and $300,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location.
