This position is onsite in Dayville CT.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Engineer role will optimize workflows, manage Continuous Improvement projects, and collaborate with site engineering teams to enhance machine performance and project outcomes. The ideal candidate is experienced in manufacturing environments, particularly with specialty slitting and spooling converting processes, and is adaptable to both independent and team-based work. This position requires up to 30-50% travel to our manufacturing locations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyse and improve existing workflows and processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity in our manufacturing operations.

• Manage CI projects from inception to completion, including scoping, budgeting, timelines, and resource allocation.

• Collaborate with site engineering teams on machine upgrades, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to production.

• Provide project management support for initiatives involving process improvements, equipment enhancements, and facility optimizations.

• Design and implement effective factory workflows, with a focus on slitting and spooling converting techniques to meet quality and output standards.

• Conduct site visits and audits to identify bottlenecks and recommend data-driven solutions.

• Work cross-functionally with AMS, production, maintenance, and quality teams to align goals and execute improvements.

• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on project progress, ROI, and process metrics.

• Create digital twins of manufacturing workspaces.

• Preparation and implantation of I4.0 in worksites.

Demonstrating business savvy:

• Actively listen for internal/external customer needs and clearly communicates capabilities in a way that confidently and accurately addresses business issues.

• Identify needs and tailor responses and solutions to build Web Industries’ value proposition.

• Stay aware of general business issues such as cost, inventory, profit and risk.

Travel for site leadership, industry events, supplier interaction, and additional team needs: ±40%

Performs other functions or responsibilities as assigned.

Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or 8-10 years in similar industry role.

2. 5-8 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing setting.

3. Experience in aerospace manufacturing and knowledge of regulatory compliance and production (AS9001)

4. Proven expertise in slitting and spooling converting processes, including setup, optimization, and troubleshooting.

5. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process mapping tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).

6. Experience in project management, with proficiency in tools like MS Project, Asana, or similar.

7. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50% of the time) to support multi-site operations.

8. Ability to work independently on complex tasks while also thriving in collaborative team environments.

9. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

10. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or simulation tools for workflow design.

Additional PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills:

1. Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).

2. AutoCAD, Inventor, or other model-based programs

3. Familiarity with ERP systems

4. Experience in multi-location or international manufacturing environments

5. Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to US and EU operations (ISO, OSHA, CE, and safety directives).

Must be able to work on government contracts.
