About Us:
Highways & Skyways Transportation, a regional carrier based in Gastonia, NC, has an immediate opening for an experienced OTR Company Driver (Class A CDL). We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused driver with a strong work history and clean driving record.
Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 position (not 1099)
Job Description:
Regional OTR Southeast Region -16 states (Frequent lanes are Charlotte to Florida, Charlotte to Tuscumbia, AL, Charlotte, NC to Olive Branch MS, and Charlotte to Louisville KY)
2500+ miles per week
HOME EVERY WEEKEND (Friday or Saturday depending on the delivery schedule)
Compensation:
$.62 per mile, plus $.02 per mile Safety Bonus ($.64 total per mile)
$21.00 per hour for waiting time in excess of 2 hours, plus $1.00 Safety Bonus ($22.00 total per hour)
Pay Frequency: Every Friday via direct deposit
Company Driver Requirements:
23 years of age
2-3 years of CDL A experience
Good/steady work history
MVR 2 or fewer violations in the last 3 years.
No DOT reportable accidents or major violations in the last 3 years
No Failed or refused drug test during the previous 10 years.
No DUI or felony over the last 10 years
TANKER Endorsement Required
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Transport goods over long distances, ensuring timely delivery to designated locations.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
Load and unload cargo with attention to detail and care for the products being transported.
Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate routes and delivery schedules.
