Gray Construction is looking for a Contract Manager to support the Procurement team in our Lexington, KY office.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)
- Follow procurement policies to ensure all equipment is purchased within commercial & legal requirements, time constraints and monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Work with the Gray Project Managers and Legal on terms negotiations.
- Review commercial terms of vendor proposals as it relates to payment terms, warranty, insurance and price.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors and establish master purchase order agreements with preferred vendors.
- Manage risk relating to cost, guarantees, warranty and supply of purchases.
- Work with Legal Department to establish and implement purchasing terms and conditions.
- Work with Risk Management Department to establish appropriate insurance requirements.
- Evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements, customer requirements and organizational policies.
- Review purchase orders for proper authorization and compliance with organizational policy and procedures.
- Monitor vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
- Review and approval purchase orders prior to releasing to vendors.
- Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes and policies to accommodate changing organizational needs.
Qualifications
Who we want… (Requirements)
A qualified Contracts Manager with a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience with vendor contracts and/or and a related bachelor’s degree; or the equivalent combination of experience and education. A Juris Doctor (JD) is highly preferred, and related degree fields such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, Contract Management, or a related discipline are strongly considered.
Must be capable and experienced in the use of the most recent versions of Microsoft Office. Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, software and e-mail.
The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills, highly organized, and enjoy growing their skills and abilities within the department.
Must be physically present in the Lexington office.
