Compensation: Starting at $22.86 per hour based on education, experience, certification, and internal equity
Status: Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do as a Paramedic-
Provide patient care and clinical support within the Emergency Department under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Rotate through Patient Observation, Transport, and other assigned areas to support departmental operations.

Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members with compassion and professionalism.

Deliver care aligned with organizational standards for patient experience, quality, and safety.

Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Support a safe, efficient, and collaborative Emergency Department environment.

High School Diploma required
-
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred
-
One (1) year of experience as a Paramedic, EMT, or CNA preferred
-
Prior inpatient or hospital experience preferred but not required
-
Current, unrestricted Paramedic license in the State of North Carolina
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association required within one (1) year of hire

Ability to deliver safe, effective patient care within the Paramedic scope of practice under licensed supervision

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with respect for patient dignity and diversity

Understanding of the continuum of care and hospital operations

Proficiency with computers, electronic medical records (EMR), and data entry
-
Commitment to teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service

Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced emergency care environment

Ability to lift, position, push, pull, and/or transfer patients and equipment exceeding 50 pounds

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and turning
-
Manual dexterity and functional mobility for patient care tasks
-
Near visual acuity for detailed work (20 inches or less)

Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials
-
Frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards
-
Requires flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
-
Frequent patient mobilization and repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements
-
Occasional exposure to cramped spaces, vibration, and radiation (with appropriate safety measures)
