Job Overview:

The Pediatric Neurology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced high-quality clinical care to children with neurological conditions. In collaboration with a supervising physician and a multidisciplinary team, the NP is responsible for the full spectrum of patient care—from comprehensive evaluations and diagnosis to the implementation of complex treatment plans—across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of practice
  • Board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with pediatric experience
  • Current BLS and PALS certification
  • DEA and CDS

Schedule:

  • M - F 8am - 4:30pm

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct detailed pediatric evaluations, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and laboratory/diagnostic analysis to diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans in coordination with physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure seamless, high-quality continuity of care.
  • Issue prescriptions and diagnostic orders in strict accordance with Federal and State regulations and facility policies.
  • Support supervising physicians by recording progress notes, transcribing orders, and providing monitoring between physician visits.
  • Provide compassionate health education and treatment instructions to patients and families, ensuring a supportive environment for complex neurological care.
  • Complete all clinical charts and administrative tasks—including notifying patients of test results—accurately and within 24–48 hours.
  • Lead or coordinate training programs for HIPAA, OSHA, and Code of Conduct; participate in routine chart audits and maintain nursing practice quality.
  • Maintain clinical excellence by staying current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations through continuous education.
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings and quality initiatives; maintain flexibility to support patient needs in various clinical environments
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
