Reports To: Sports Coordinator

Missions: Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leader’s mission is to provide youth with sports, educational, and civic direction helping them build the character and self-esteem they need to reach their full potential and value in society.

Position Overview:

This position requires a passion for sports, a commitment to youth development, and the ability to uphold BCYL's mission and values. While experience in the sport is necessary, we welcome applications from individuals with varying levels of experience, including high school students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement sports programs as outlined and agreed upon by the Director of Sports and the Sports Coordinator.
• Ensure activities are appropriate for the age and skill level of the participants.
• Actively engage players in sports activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Instill principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
• Prioritize and ensure the safety of each player during all activities.
• Report any unsafe conditions or issues immediately to the Sports Coordinator.
• Maintain CPR certification and apply first aid skills as needed.
• Respectfully conduct oneself, serving as a role model for young athletes.

• Experience: Demonstrated experience in the sport you wish to coach. Previous coaching experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Certifications: Must be CPR certified or willing to obtain certification.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate young athletes.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate sports techniques and training methods.
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
