About This Position
Description:
JOB SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations within the lumber plant, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role is responsible for managing a team of production workers, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to meet daily output goals.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Schedule and assign tasks to workers based on production needs and skill levels.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members to promote skill development and performance.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for management.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and disciplinary actions.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Work closely with other PRIDE and DC personnel to ensure compliance with institutional rules and regulations.
- Education and Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or lumber production environment.
- Language Skills: Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.
- Reasoning Ability: Reading comprehension.
- Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Proficient in tools / Reading a Tape. Forklift certified. Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Understand quality control awareness and management. Safety management with documentation. Ability to foster teamwork. Detail-oriented. Handle stress and conflict resolution skills. Proficient in Blueprint Reading. (CPI) Continuous Process Improvement.
