Position Description: Palmetto Corp is seeking a Dump Truck Driver who will transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, and paving materials. This candidate will be responsible for the following while having a strong focus on safety.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Adhere to all Palmetto Corp. Safety guidelines.

- Perform daily DOT Pre/Post Trip Inspections.

- Maintain detailed logs on the substance(s) being hauled and their weight.

- Must handle all paperwork handed to them throughout the day.

- Follow detailed instructions given by Central Dispatch.

- Fasten chains or binders to secure load on trailer during transit.

- Load, unload or assist in loading and unloading of truck.

- Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow policies and procedures of Palmetto Corp.

- Must be able to lift 20lbs or more

- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to work overtime, nights and/or weekends (if needed).

Requirements:

- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License for at minimum 1 year

- Must be able to drive a manual transmission.

- Must meet all DOT requirements for CDL Drivers, including DOT Physical.

- Must be able to climb in and out of body of truck using 3 points of contact at all times.

- Must be able to clean inside of truck body, including getting in the back of the truck with a shovel to clean entire area so other loads won’t be contaminated.

- Understand and abide by the SC short haul regulations for Hours of Service of drivers within the 100 air mile radius (12 hours per day, no more than 70 hours per 7 days, or 80 hours in 8 days. Must have minimum of 8 hours off between shifts. Drivers are allowed a one-time exception each week of up to 16 hours in one day. That day must be logged by a paper log book.)
