About This Position

Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Cook I to join the family! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Today, Del Real Food makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco -- all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial.

The Kitchen cook Team Member will be under close supervision and following the appropriate GMP’s the employee performs a full range of formula preparation/cooking assignments using supervisor or other higher level Management guidance to assure that all products leave the plant in compliance with consumer expectations. The employee will provide support to the Kitchen team on pulling, staging, organizing and cooking food products. This position will support the cook team on reducing downtime on line change over’s and assure peak kitchen efficiency.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Follow all safety procedures
  2. Ability to perform all activities relating to product management. (Weighing, confirming ingredients, read and understand recipes, take appropriate corrective actions to prevent errors etc.)
  3. Ability work with good manufacturing practices.
  4. Ensure all procedures and work instructions are followed, to maintain product safety for all customers.
  5. Verify code dates, use by dates etc.
  6. Verify the appearance of product and assure that it meets the established parameters and notify immediate supervisor when they do NOT
  7. Positive attitude when helping peers, leaders, or supervisors.
  8. Assist kitchen team in the completion of their orders
  9. Clean and maintain assigned area in safe sanitary condition, insuring product safety
  10. Maintain hygiene, follow GMP’S, follow SQF and USDA guidelines
  11. Verify that equipment is in good working condition.
  12. Remain on designated work areas.
  13. Notify QC when starting/finishing cooking a new batch
  14. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance

Requirements and Duties:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience on the field (Food Industry is a plus)
  • Being able to stand particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Extreme cold/Hot temperatures

After completing an application, qualified candidates will be scheduled for a phone screen followed by an interview with the HR management team. Selected candidates will then be scheduled for an offer of employment and orientation!
