Accountant at Equitable Bank – Grand Island, Nebraska

Equitable Bank is currently hiring a qualified Accountant to join the Maruska Tax & Accounting division, located in Grand Island, Nebraska. This is a full-time, onsite role with regular business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility is offered, including extended hours during tax season to accommodate client needs.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for accounting and tax-related duties. This position allows latitude for independent action and decision making.

Essential Functions:

• Provide bookkeeping services for clients using QuickBooks.
• Preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings, such as personal property tax returns, sales tax reports, and payroll reports.
• Payroll processing for clients.
• Assist in the compilation and preparation of client financial statements.
• Preparation of basic corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
