Assistant Athletic Director

As an Assistant Athletic Director, youll play a vital role in helping youth develop confidence, leadership, and healthy habits through engaging sports, fitness, and outdoor programs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Athletic Director supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality sports, fitness, and recreation programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, physical activity, and community engagement. Youll help create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where members can build confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits through structured play and athletic programming.
KEY RESPONSABILITES:
Youth Engagement & Program Delivery
Lead and assist in delivering engaging sports and fitness programs for youth ages 818.
Promote consistent participation and foster a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
Develop and facilitate instructional and competitive activities, including leagues, clinics, and tournaments.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to youth participants.
Program Development & Community Collaboration
Collaborate with local community partners to enhance programming and increase facility use.
Assist in creating seasonal schedules for in-house leagues, clinics, and special events.
Support the integration of health and outdoor adventure into athletic programming.
Operations & Evaluation
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment in all program areas.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; track participation and outcomes.
Assist with equipment inventory, setup, and maintenance.
Team Leadership & Professional Development
Participate in athletic staff meetings and all-staff trainings.
Support a positive team culture and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
May supervise junior staff, volunteers, or interns as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in youth sports, recreation, or fitness programming.
Experience planning and leading athletic activities, games, and events.
Skills & Attributes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of youth development principles and trauma-informed practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid drivers license required.
