This Secondary Teaching Assistant role in North London would suit experienced TAs, learning support assistants, or those looking to build a career supporting secondary-age students.

Key Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Work alongside teachers to support engaging, inclusive lessons across a range of subjects and key stages.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with varying needs.
• Support students working towards GCSEs and other key qualifications through targeted intervention.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour, promoting positive behaviour throughout.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, colleagues and families when required.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant experience supporting students in an education setting.
• Be confident supporting engaging lessons for mixed-ability classes across secondary key stages.
• Demonstrate an understanding of strategies that support students with additional or special educational needs.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.
• Hold an exemplary commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills, working collaboratively within a team.
