OPEN POSITION:
Position: Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Assistant
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Main Location: Cass City & Marlette, MI
Hours: Full Time. Days. Monday-Friday. 40 hrs. Full Benefits.
Aspire Rural Health System is hiring a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Assistant. We’re looking for individuals with a positive attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering the highest quality of service to both our patients and employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate or the equivalent.
- Hold current up-to-date CNA Licensure.
- Current BLS certification required at date of hire by the American Heart Association.
- Previous hospital/medical experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The RCP Rehab Assistant acquires training and clinical experience while providing logistical support for the operations of the Respiratory Care/Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department. The RCP Rehab Assistant possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional care with guidance from a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner, including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care based on the needs of the patient. The final and ultimate authority, judgment, and clinical decision-making are the responsibility of a physician. He/She is involved in acute, critical, and/or life-threatening patient care areas and situations. Standard practice requires him/her to proceed along in administering emergency, life-sustaining procedures until such time as judgment and decision-making responsibilities may be assumed by a physician. He/She maintains, cleans, sterilizes, and prepares equipment and supplies utilized by the Respiratory Care/Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department. Assembles equipment and supplies in preparation for use and renders basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direct supervision of a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner only after receiving adequate, documented orientation and training with demonstrated proficiency in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Hospital. This position is classified as an OSHA Risk Category I, indicating that the job involves contact with patients. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue is possible during employment, and the employee must follow universal precautions.
