TEMP Warehouse Helper in Pensacola, Florida at TEL Staffing & HR

TEL Staffing is now hiring a full-time temporary Warehouse Helper to assist the staff of a Pensacola based HVAC company in their Pensacola FL warehouse. Duties will include assisting their shipping and receiving trucks, providing quality service by following the standards of their organization, and ensuring cleanliness of the warehouse by providing routine maintenance of the warehouse on a constant basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. However, this is NOT an exclusive or an all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned & required.

• Assist in unloading trucks and determining the material.
• Move items from the receiving pallet to storage areas using pallet-jacks or trolleys.
• Ensure that items are appropriately placed on shelves and racks according to their types and sizes.
• Physically move orders from storage areas to packing areas.
• Handle packing activities such as putting items in boxes or crates and labeling them properly.
• Move packaged items to the delivery pallet and load them onto delivery trucks.
• Make sure that packaged items are properly and securely placed inside the delivery truck.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, & regulations.

SKILLS / ABILITIES NEEDED:

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and/or crawling.
• Regularly required to climb on ladders.
• Regularly lift & move 10-50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift & move MORE than 50 lbs.
• Troubleshooting.
• Effective time-management.
• Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards.
• This position requires working in diverse conditions including (but not limited to) mechanical equipment rooms (with exposure to noisy operating equipment), and exposure to extreme weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Must have a VALID Driver's License (with NO major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI's in previous 5 years)

PAY:
Starting pay is $15/hr.

SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday ..... Approximately 8am - 5pm
Minimum Qualifications & Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Interpersonal Communication - Requires the ability to hear, speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving/receiving assignments and/or directions to coworkers or
assistants / from supervisors. Must be able to communicate via telephone or two-way radio.
Intelligence - Requires the ability to learn and understand complex principles and techniques; to acquire and be able to expound on knowledge of topics related to primary occupation; and to make independent judgment in the absence of management.
Verbal Aptitude — Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of administrative, technical or professional languages including mechanical electrical, and computer terminology.
Numerical Aptitude — Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; utilize and determine percentages, interpret graphs; compute discount, interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, etc.; perform calculations involving variables, formulas, square roots, and polynomials; perform statistical calculations; perform algebraic operations.
Form/Spatial Aptitude — Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape, visually with HVAC and various construction equipment.
Motor Coordination — Requires the ability to coordinate hands, fingers, and eyes accurately in using HVAC equipment and various construction equipment. Requires the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, manipulate equipment/tools and objects as the position necessitates.
Manual Dexterity — Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as HVAC and other various construction equipment. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have moderate levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination — Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
Interpersonal Temperament — Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under considerable stress when confronted with an emergency.
