Job Description

Staff Salesforce Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Salesforce Engineer based in Brazil.

We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce engineer to shape the architecture, development, and evolution of a critical business process platform within a large-scale technology environment. In this Staff-level role, you will design scalable solutions that support essential business workflows, including rental contract termination and sales processes. You will contribute to the platform's evolution toward Salesforce Service Cloud, improving service delivery and operational efficiency. Working closely with product, UX, QA, and partner engineering teams, you will drive technical decisions and establish engineering standards that support long-term maintainability. You will also oversee integrations, optimize platform performance, and ensure solutions align with business needs and technical best practices. This remote-first opportunity offers significant technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence the architecture of business-critical systems at scale.

Accountabilities
  • Salesforce Development and Architecture

    • Design, develop, customize, and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, and SOSL.

    • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of critical business processes, including rental contract termination and sales workflows.

    • Drive architectural discussions, influence technical direction, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.

    • Support the evolution of the platform, including the transition of critical service processes to Salesforce Service Cloud and improvements in operational efficiency.

    • Implement and maintain Salesforce automation using flows, triggers, workflows, Process Builder, and other platform capabilities.

  • Systems Integration and Platform Optimization

    • Integrate Salesforce with internal and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, ETL tools, and other appropriate integration technologies.

    • Work with messaging and queue-based systems to support reliable communication and asynchronous processing between services.

    • Identify, investigate, and resolve software defects, integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.

    • Develop and optimize Salesforce reports and dashboards to improve operational visibility and support data-driven decision-making.

    • Ensure platform solutions comply with Salesforce development standards, security requirements, and established engineering best practices.

  • Technical Leadership and Engineering Excellence

    • Provide technical leadership across teams, establishing architectural patterns, conducting code reviews, and promoting high engineering standards.

    • Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and partner engineering teams to translate business requirements into efficient and secure technical solutions.

    • Support requirements analysis, technical discovery, and solution design, ensuring that implementation decisions reflect both immediate needs and long-term platform goals.

    • Coordinate with external consultancies and technical partners to ensure architectural consistency, integration quality, and adherence to engineering standards.

    • Lead cross-team technical initiatives and promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Delivery, DevOps, and Continuous Improvement

    • Contribute to Salesforce deployment and release management processes using Salesforce DX (SFDX), CI/CD pipelines, Change Sets, and the Metadata API.

    • Apply version control practices and support reliable, repeatable deployment workflows.

    • Work within agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, to coordinate priorities and deliver business value.

    • Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, automation, system reliability, and platform scalability.

    • Ensure technical documentation and architectural decisions support ongoing maintenance, knowledge transfer, and future platform evolution.

Requirements
  • Extensive professional experience developing and architecting solutions on the Salesforce platform, particularly with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, and SOSL.

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, application development principles, and best practices for building secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

  • Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Community Cloud.

  • Hands-on experience integrating systems through REST and SOAP APIs, with a solid understanding of integration patterns and distributed system communication.

  • Familiarity with messaging and queue technologies such as Amazon SQS, Apache Kafka, or equivalent solutions.

  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and collaborative software development workflows.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce DevOps and deployment practices, including SFDX, CI/CD pipelines, Change Sets, and the Metadata API.

  • Understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Technical English proficiency for reading and writing code, documentation, technical references, and communication with international colleagues and partners.

  • Fluency in Portuguese and working knowledge of English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical challenges and recommend practical, scalable solutions.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including the ability to influence architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and support cross-team initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with product, UX, QA, engineering, and external consulting teams.

  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset, with a focus on long-term platform quality, continuous improvement, and measurable business impact.

Nice to have:

  • Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer I or II, or Platform App Builder.

  • Experience with MuleSoft, Tableau CRM, or other technologies within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, Java, or other programming languages used to build integrations and supporting services.

  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms, modernizing existing architectures, or migrating critical business processes to Salesforce Service Cloud.
