Federal Government Relations Manager

This role is a strategic and highly visible position focused on shaping and advancing federal advocacy efforts in support of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions. The Federal Government Relations Manager acts as a key liaison between internal leadership and external government stakeholders, helping influence policy discussions and strengthen relationships across the federal landscape. Operating at the intersection of technology, public policy, and national security, the role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. It involves monitoring legislative developments, building stakeholder networks, and translating complex policy issues into actionable business insights. The position is best suited for a proactive professional comfortable navigating fast-moving regulatory environments. It also plays a critical role in ensuring alignment between government engagement strategies and organizational priorities.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute federal government relations and advocacy strategies in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with federal policymakers, agency officials, congressional staff, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, tracking key policy timelines and identifying strategic implications
  • Design and manage advocacy campaigns, including policy papers, briefing materials, and legislative proposals
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with third-party organizations to support policy objectives
  • Represent the organization at federal events, policy forums, and industry discussions
  • Coordinate with internal teams (communications, public sector, leadership) to ensure aligned messaging and strategy
  • Conduct policy analysis and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Track, measure, and report on government relations activities and advocacy effectiveness
  • Support special projects related to public policy, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory positioning
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on government relations priorities and processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or legislative affairs
  • Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes
  • Proven experience engaging with federal agencies, congressional offices, or Capitol Hill stakeholders
  • Strong network within government relations or public policy ecosystems (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including policy writing and briefing development
  • Ability to analyze complex policy issues and translate them into strategic recommendations
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in cybersecurity, technology, or public sector IT environments is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a consultative approach
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and evolving environment
