Job Description
Summary:
This part time position assists in preparing and service of food for YWCA York or Camp Cann-Edi-On in accordance with CACFP. Puts away deliveries, rotates stock and dishwashing as necessary. The Cook also maintains a clean work environment that is in compliance with food service regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Food preparation and distribution to children, staff, and campers.
- Comply with special dietary needs.
- Responsible for dishwashing related to food preparation and serving in accordance with regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment (sinks, countertops, stovetops, equipment, sweep/mop floor, empty trash, etc.).
- Must maintain ServSafe Certification
- Assist in delivering off-site food and meals to rooms and stock as needed.
- Receive, organize, and rotate deliveries and stock as needed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Has a current ServSafe Certification (or willing to complete it).
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to prepare healthy CACFP-compliant meals
- Current drivers license
- Observe safety and security procedures; Use equipment and materials properly.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
- May require driving in inclement weather.
- Frequent standing and walking.
