Position Summary
The ALTO Alliance Paralegal is responsible for supporting the legal and operations team for administrative responsibilities, research, outreach and development of legal solutions for ALTO’s client’s crime and public safety challenges. The ALTO Alliance Paralegal is also responsible for supporting a group of stores determined by the Director of Operations of the market. Within those stores the Paralegal is responsible for managing the criminal investigations, and cases, with the support of the assigned Customer Success Specialist, and the market team.
This position requires incumbents to exercise well developed legal skills and knowledge and act independently under general oversight and direction of the Director of Operations. This is a hands-on, hybrid position that requires flexibility, innovative thinking, and strong customer service skills.

Scope of Responsibilities
Support legal team in case research, critical event reporting, and client service needs, both writing and verbal, to forward the objectives of ALTO Alliance.
Communicates regarding criminal case preparation, filing and case dispositions, to provide support needed for Legal Teams for effectively and successfully managing their caseload and serving clients.
Communicate with law enforcement and prosecutors on customers cases.
Attends criminal court hearings and reports court activity to Director of Operations, victims, and Alto’s leadership.
Acts as a victim advocate and confers with victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors regarding the rights and wishes of represented victims when requested by the Director of Operations.
Advises victims and corporate employers regarding criminal and courtroom procedures and case handling with the support of the legal team.
Assists in coordination of witness courtroom attendance needs with the support of the legal team.
Prepares bail and sentencing recommendation documents for submission on behalf of crime victims.
Assists in the relationship building and on-going interaction with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors that belong to the ALTO Alliance program.
Schedules and coordinates Law Enforcement Partnership meetings for the stores on their district.
Makes retail client visits.
Provide Legal updates and support to their assigned stores
Keeps Legal Management systems updated
Other legal and broader business responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations
Minimum Position Qualifications
Experience in one more of the following: Paralegal/Legal Assistant for 1+ year, Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certification, and/or Bachelor's degree with a criminal/legal focus.
Experience with documentation management such as case management software/systems, maintaining contact lists, and data entry/input and alike, is preferred.
Brings great attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills, as they support Attorney(s) and help clients with legal issues.
Must be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely manner
Ability to work varied work hours to meet client needs, including nights and weekends as needed
Excellent presentation/communication skills
Strong organizational skills and document management skills
Proficiency using computers, computer databases and Microsoft Office
Strong research and writing skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
