POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a creative senior-level Architect to join our architecture team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is suited for someone with 10-15 years of experience who is interested in contributing to working on a diverse array of projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary A/E environment.
The architect will be primarily focused on municipal and civic buildings such as fire stations, police stations, courthouses, jails, and public works facilities for various state and local government clients. When not focused on these projects, other projects may include commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and workplace typologies.
Working alongside other architects, planners, engineers, and landscape architects, this position is actively involved in both planning efforts and site-specific designs, as well as the management and production of Contract Documents and technical documents for construction.
This role requires critical thinking skills and the ability to act strategically, set and achieve goals, and create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions. The ability to lead, manage and mentor personnel is paramount.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop concept plans, diagrams, renderings, and graphics that communicate design ideas clearly
- Preparing architectural presentation documents, reports, and drawings
- Create contract documents, including technical drawings and specifications
- Support preparation of materials for client meetings and public engagement activities
- Assist in organizing and documenting input from stakeholder and community engagement efforts
- Participate in and lead coordination with internal project teams across disciplines
- Attend project team meetings, and daytime/evening/weekend meetings if needed
- Assist with field investigation site visits as requested
- Limited construction administration, including RFI responses, submittal review and occasional field visits
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited US college
- Professional Registration as an Architect in the United States
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Architecture working in an Engineering or Architecture/Engineering design consulting firm with an emphasis on providing Architectural design services for buildings
- Strong graphic and layout skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong architectural design and concept layout skills using Rhinoceros and Revit
- Strong rendering skills using software such as D5, Enscape, or Twinmotion
- Proficiency in developing construction drawings using Autodesk Revit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in editing or writing three-part CSI MasterFormat technical specifications
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu
- Strong written communication skills, including report writing and document preparation
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Ability to think critically and contribute to problem-solving efforts
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team
- LEED, WELL, or Phius accreditation
- 3D printing and model making skills
- Hand drawing skills
- Familiarity with Trimble SketchUp
