Job Title: Housekeeping & Facilities Maintenance

Location: Salem, Virginia

Shift: 3rd

Starting Compensation Range: $16.80 - $21.12 per hour + Shift Differential

What You Will Do:

  • Review work to be completed each day and prioritize, coordinate, and obtain materials needed to complete requested and required maintenance in a timely manner
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors
  • Wash and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors
  • Pull trash, dust surfaces, wipe all touch points, and ensure chairs and tables are in their place
  • Assist with maintenance of facility landscaping, snow removal, ice melt, as requested
  • Stock and maintain supplies required to perform assigned duties
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms used for meetings and events
  • Notify supervisor of occurring deficiencies or items in need of repair
  • Work with Facilities team with minor facilities projects
  • Travel to off-site facilities to perform cleaning responsibilities
  • Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous related experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work additional hours to meet demands
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent driving record
  • Willingness to travel to off-site Carter facilities to perform cleaning responsibilities

  • Successful prioritization of work each day to ensure timely completion of requested and required maintenance
  • Clean and sanitized facilities
  • Well maintained landscaping and clear roads and parking areas within facilities
  • Accurate setups and tear downs of rooms used for meetings and events
  • Traveling to other facilities to perform cleaning duties
  • Promoting a positive customer experience

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequently sitting for extended periods of time
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
