This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate/Senior Associate Oracle or Microsoft based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to IT Asset Management and software licensing projects for major global clients. You will support engagements focused on software license compliance, Software Asset Management (SAM), data analysis, and license optimization. Working alongside experienced advisory professionals, you will help evaluate software entitlements, usage, contracts, and licensing requirements across complex environments. You will collaborate with client-side SAM, procurement, IT operations, and finance teams to improve visibility and identify optimization opportunities. The role combines analytical work, technology consulting, contract interpretation, and client engagement in a global environment. It is well suited to professionals who are detail-oriented, curious about software licensing, and motivated by solving complex business and technology challenges.

• Support client engagements across planning, execution, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on license baselining, usage analysis, renewal preparation, and Effective License Position (ELP) development.

• Conduct entitlement reviews, license reconciliations, and usage evaluations across diverse technology environments and software publishers.

• Collaborate with SAM, procurement, IT operations, and finance stakeholders to improve software asset lifecycle visibility and identify optimization opportunities.

• Configure, validate, and work with SAM tools and data integrations such as Snow and Flexera to support accurate reporting and analysis.

• Analyze engagement findings and contribute to remediation, compliance, and cost-optimization recommendations, including supporting documentation for clients.

• Perform detailed Excel-based analysis across structured and unstructured datasets related to software licenses, entitlements, and usage.

• Support internal and vendor audits by reviewing contractual entitlements, product use rights, and licensing requirements.

• Research and interpret software licensing models, contractual language, publisher-specific metrics, and evolving licensing practices.

• Monitor industry developments involving SaaS subscriptions, BYOL, cloud consumption licensing, and ISO/ITIL-aligned SAM practices.

• Help improve SAM capabilities through governance support, policy documentation, reporting enhancements, and process improvement or automation initiatives.

• Track assigned workstreams, milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements while communicating progress clearly to project leads.

• Experience in Software Asset Management, software license compliance, IT asset management, software advisory, data analytics, or a related technology consulting environment; prior consulting or enterprise experience is advantageous.

• A degree or academic background in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with licensing models and metrics from major publishers such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Autodesk; experience supporting license true-ups or audit responses is a plus.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, data manipulation, and analysis of large datasets.

• Hands-on experience with SAM or IT asset management platforms such as Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow Asset Management, or Lansweeper.

• Ability to interpret complex software licensing models, contractual terms, entitlements, and product use rights.

• Demonstrated ability to identify compliance gaps and contribute to practical remediation and license optimization recommendations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach and close attention to data accuracy and integrity.

• Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams while managing competing priorities and multiple workstreams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical licensing and SAM findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Certifications such as CSAM, CHAMP, ITIL, or ISO 19770 are advantageous.
