The Impact You Will Make

As an Assistant Activities Director, you will ensure our residents experience a higher quality of life through meaningful social, cognitive, physical, and emotional engagement. Your support role will not only facilitate access to activities but also provide personalized care, safety, and encouragement, directly impacting resident satisfaction, health outcomes, and overall well-being.

What You Will Do

• Assist in designing and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules tailored to residents’ abilities and interests.
• Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities, including arts and crafts, music, exercise, games, social events, and educational programs.
• Encourage resident participation and maintain individualized activity plans consistent with personal preferences and care plans.
• Document resident participation and progress, complying with regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and social services teams to ensure coordinated resident care.
• Assist in maintaining safe, accessible, and engaging activity spaces and equipment.
• Stay current with industry best practices, trends in recreational therapy, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, gerontology, human services, or related field preferred.
• Experience in senior care, long-term care, or recreational programming is strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.
• BLS certification preferred.
