Senior Workday Integration Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Workday Integration Engineer based in India.

This is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on building and supporting a modern Workday integration environment within a complex healthcare setting.
You will take ownership of integrations across Workday HCM and Payroll and a broad ecosystem of enterprise and third-party platforms.
The role spans the full integration lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, go-live, stabilization, and production support.
You will work closely with technical teams, functional stakeholders, vendors, and implementation partners to deliver reliable solutions.
A key focus will be establishing scalable integration standards, documentation, monitoring, and support practices for long-term sustainability.
The position offers significant influence over integration architecture, security, performance, and engineering best practices.
Travel will be required for key project milestones and go-live events.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support complex integrations across Workday HCM and Payroll and connected enterprise systems.
  • Build and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), XML, REST and SOAP APIs, and file-based integration methods.
  • Lead integrations between Workday and benefits, payroll, tax, timekeeping, scheduling, recruiting, and other third-party platforms.
  • Own integrations throughout their complete lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, implementation, go-live, stabilization, and ongoing production support.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues, perform detailed root-cause analysis, and drive timely and sustainable resolutions.
  • Partner with internal technical teams, functional stakeholders, vendors, and implementation partners to coordinate integration delivery and resolve technical challenges.
  • Establish integration standards, documentation, monitoring practices, and support processes that promote a scalable and sustainable Workday environment.
  • Provide technical leadership on integration architecture, scalability, security, reliability, and enterprise integration best practices.
  • Collaborate with other integration resources to ensure consistent technical approaches and successful delivery of critical implementation milestones.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of Workday integration and/or ERP integration experience, including ownership of complex implementation projects.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Workday Studio, EIB, XML, APIs, and file-based integration technologies.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting REST and SOAP APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Required experience with Workday HCM and/or Payroll integrations.
  • Strong preference for experience delivering Benefits and Payroll integrations.
  • Experience integrating Workday with benefits, tax, timekeeping, scheduling, recruiting, or other third-party enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting integrations across implementation, testing, go-live, stabilization, and production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities, combined with excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and work effectively with technical, functional, vendor, and implementation teams.
  • Workday training, current or previous certification, or equivalent demonstrated expertise is preferred.
  • Healthcare or higher education experience is an advantage.
  • Experience with Azure API Management, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or comparable integration platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to Epic and/or HL7 integrations is desirable.
  • PMP or ITIL certification is a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $120,000–$145,000+, based on qualifications and experience.
